Gitzo Tripod Heads

Ball Heads: Ball heads have only one control handle. By loosening this control, you free all movements for fast and easy operation. Vertical shots are very easy to set up with ball heads. Their main disadvantage is loss of precise framing.


G075 Ball Head: This model is designed for use with the Table and Weekend Series of Gitzo Tripods and designed for 35mm format cameras.


G1175 : This ball head is designed to fit the Weekend and Sport Series of Gitzo Tripods.


G1275M Magnesium: This model is recommended for use with the Reporter Series of Gitzo Tripods. The G1275M is identical in design to the model G1275 except it is made of magnesium making it 20% lighter.


G1276M Offset Tripod Ball Head (w/QR): This model is recommended for use with the Reporter Series of Gitzo Tripods. G1276M features the Quick Release Plate with a secondary safety lock for quick and easy camera mount and removal. There is also the option for using a Quick Release Long Plate for even more flexibility.
The new Magnesium (M) series heads are 20% lighter than the older aluminum models.

G1377M : At the heart of this ball head is a precision-machined, Teflon coated aluminum ball for ultra-smooth operation. The new ball head incorporates a separate friction control, which can be set to counterbalance the weight of the camera, giving total control over the finest of adjustments. This head is supplied with a fixed round plate with reversible 1/4" or 3/8" camera fixing. Independent pan and tilt controls lock the head exactly where it is set, without movement. All locking knobs have a rubber coating, for a softer touch and excellent grip. The combination of smooth performance, controllability and accuracy once again sets new standards in ball head design.

G1576M Offset Tripod Ball Head w/ QR: This Tripod Ball Head is recommended for use with the Pro Studex and Tele Studex Series of Gitzo Tripods. There is also the option for using a Quick Release Long Plate for even more flexibility.

Pan & Tilt Heads: Slower to operate than ball heads, but Pan & Tilt heads allow more precise operation. Each movement uses a separate control handle.


G1171 Rationnelle: This tripod head is designed to go on the Weekend and Sport Series of Gitzo Tripods.


G1172 Rationnelle: This Model G1172 is designed to fit the Weekend and Sport Series of Gitzo Tripods.
This tripod head has a built in Quick Release Platform.

G1270M Rationnelle: This Tripod Head is recommended for use with the Reporter Series of Gitzo Tripods. The low profile heads provide solid support and flexibility for heavier large format cameras. The distance from the top of the tripod to the camera platform is reduced to ensure that the center of gravity of the camera is kept over the middle of the tripod to avoid the possibility of overbalancing.
