The 555ELD, the latest in a long line of Hasselblad
motorized leaf shutter cameras, has inherited the
long-lasting reliability and reputation of its
predecessors. But we aren't content to rest on our
laurels, no matter how impressive they are. We are
constantly improving the 555ELD, adding useful
modifications such as a mirror suspension, similar
to that used in one of Hasselblad's space camera
models. This suspension system, designed to meet the
demands of camera use in space, considerably
prolongs the working-life of the mirror mechanism.
Other modifications include the camera body interior
coating that reduces the stray-light level to an
absolute minimum, further enhancing image contrast.
Using the 555ELD's IR Release unit that attaches to
the camera's front release ports and the IR Remote
control, you can operate the camera from distances
up to 10 m (33'). This allows you unsurpassed
freedom of movement, enabling you to be where you
need to be in the studio, without being physically
connected to the camera. In addition, the camera's
motor drive ensures that your camera will always be
wound and ready for your next exposure, both for
single shots and sequences of more than one picture
per second.
In addition to being the ideal studio camera for
conventional photography, a range of features make
the 555ELD the ideal camera for professional digital
imaging applications as well. Integrated data bus
connections interface directly with corresponding
connections on the digital back, thus eliminating
the need of an external cord between the camera and
the digital back.
The camera features a unique dual release system
with two separate release ports on the camera front.
One is used for conventional photography on normal
film and the other activates the digital back via
the data bus connections.
The precision made Hasselblad lenses, the highly
efficient internal stray-light protection, and the
rigid magazine mount make the 555ELD the perfect
platform for the use of digital backs. Using a
single-shot digital back with memory unit and power
pack, you can freely work on location even with the
camera hand-held. Simply focus and compose your
image on the camera's bright Acute-Matte D focusing
screen and release the exposure from the camera. |
