35mm SLRs

Canon - EOS Rebel K2 35mm SLR Camera

The EOS Rebel K2 has a full package of exciting, automatic functions combined with single-handed operation and incredible SLR performance. An advanced, lightweight, ergonomic design houses a full set of controls and information displays, all presented with exciting, tough to beat look and style. The K2 is the next step in SLRs revolution.

7-point High Speed Autofocus System - Futuristic Styling, Innovative Control Layout and A Faster, Wider Autofocus. The Rebel K2's seven focusing points read a wide area of a scene to give you exquisitely precise focus -- even when your subject is off-center. The K2 detects whether your subject is moving or still, and instantly adjusts the autofocus to match. Specialized shooting modes like Portrait, Landscape or Sports pre-set the focusing for the subject at hand. There's even a Continuous Shooting Mode to capture sequential action at a fast, silent 1.5 frames per second (fps).

35-zone Metering System Linked to 7-point Autofocus - Fool-Proof Exposure Metering. Getting the right exposure is what separates an ordinary picture from an extraordinary one. That's why the Rebel K2 is equipped with a 35-zone metering system. Linked to the 7 AF focusing points, the K2's 35-zone metering system gives you accurate, consistent exposure even in tough shooting conditions -- like strong backlight. In addition to the K2's standard evaluative metering pattern, the camera also offers central-area partial metering covering 9.5% of the picture area. This feature is available in all Creative Zone shooting modes.

12 Shooting Modes including 7 PIC (Programmed Image Control) Modes - Programmed Image Zone and Creative Zone - More Fun, Better Pictures. Sometimes you want complete creative control. Other times, you just want to shoot. The Rebel K2 gives you the options to do both, easily. 7 programmed Image Modes let you handle common shooting situations automatically like a pro. For maximum self-expression, 5 Creative Modes let you finesse every detail.

Programmed Image Modes
Full Auto: Shoot carefree: focus and exposure are intelligently controlled for you.
Portrait: Your subject is sharply focused and the background beautifully blurred.
Landscape: Scenery comes alive with sweeping depth-of-field and backgrounds in sharp focus.
Close-up: Capture every dazzling detail with incredible definition.
Sports: Freeze fast action for high-impact images.
Night Scene: Makes a challenging situation easy, properly illuminating both subject and background.
Flash Off: Disables both the built-in flash and an attached Speedlite.

Creative Modes
Auto Depth-of-Field AE: Creates a custom zone of sharpness between the nearest and farthest subjects.
Manual: Lets you take complete control of every system whenever you want.
Aperture Priority: Choose an aperture for dramatic effects while the camera sets the shutter speed.
Shutter-speed Priority: Set your own shutter speed and the camera will choose an appropriate aperture.
Programmed AE: Experiment with shutter and aperture while maintaining a constant exposure value.

Advanced E-TTL Flash Metering System - The Flash with a Brain. Whether you're using the built-in retractable flash or you've attached an optional EX-series Speedlite, Canon's advanced TTL and E-TTL technologies take the guesswork out of SLR flash photography. By analyzing lighting conditions and focusing zone information, the Rebel K2 automatically gives you the natural, balanced illumination that makes pictures stand out.
High Speed Sync: Synchronize the Speedlite with fast shutter speeds to create impressive freeze-frames.
FE Lock: Determine suitable flash intensity when subjects are off-center.

Futuristic Styling, Innovative Control Layout and Large LCD Panel - The Rebel K2 's design is intuitive and in tune with your needs. A super-sized LCD lets you see camera setting clearly. The intelligent controls are laid out to put everything within close reach for relaxed, one-handed shooting. The result? The camera feels like it's a part of you.

Compatible with 50+ EF Lenses - With their innovative technology and superior optical quality, Canon EF lenses set the standard the world over. The Rebel K2 is compatible with the entire range of over 50 Canon EF lenses (Not compatible with EF-S lens) to give you every creative option.
