Pentax 67II

Pentax 67II, recently
introduced looks and feels much like a 35 mm but a lot bigger. 35 mm shooters moving up to
6X7 format will feel right at home with this camera. Pentax 67II uses 120 and 220 films
but no interchangeable film backs. A pressure plate inside the back is adjusted for
switching from 120 to 220 films. The optional AE prism finder offers +/- 3 stops exposure
compensation, aperture-priority and metered manual plus TTL flash metering. Shutter speeds range from
4 to 1/1000 sec plus bulb. Data display shows ISO setting, exposure counter, flash,
battery check. Other features include, multiple exposure, memory lock, which locks meter
reading, self timer, mirror lockup, depth-of-field preview on lenses, and shutter speeds
from 30-1/1000 sec is possible with optional AE finder. Pentax 67II is a great choice for
wildlife and sport photography as it has a huge range of lenses from 35 mm f-4.5 to a 1000
mm f-8 mirror lens with everything in between including fast 400 mm to 800 mm lenses plus
a 50-100 mm zoom, two macros, a 75 mm shift lens. Other accessories include a 1.4X and a
2X converter, extension tubes, bellows, slide copiers and reverse adopters.
Features:
A Professional-Standard 6x7 Format
SLR with Aperture-Priority AE and Multi-Pattern Metering, the new Pentax 67II combines
medium-format 6x7 capabilities with traditional virtues of conventional SLR construction,
and brings the state-of-the-art SLR technologies to this highly acclaimed format. It
offers greatly improved performance, maneuverability and reliability, while retaining
maximum compatibility with current 67 system lenses and accessories. While inheriting the popular SLR design of the original 67, the 67II
offers a built-in grip, shutter-release button, wind up lever and shutter dial. The finder
lockup mechanism is also redesigned to keep the finder securely in place even during
active shooting sessions. The 67II is equipped with a TTL direct metering sensor inside
the body to offer advanced TTL auto flash operation for speedy, accurate flash
photography. With the optional 67II AE pentaprism finder attached, the 67II offers
reliable aperture priority AE operation through its advanced six-segment, center-weighted
or spot metering modes. The effective image area of the 67II measures 55mm by 70mm, more
than four times larger than 35mm format. This assures sharper resolution, superior image
quality and less grain. The 67II incorporates the highly acclaimed extra-bright Pentax
natural-bright matte focusing screen, which is an astonishing 60% brighter than the
focusing screens on the original 67. It can be replaced by a choice of three different
focusing screens (optional), or the standard micro-prism matte screen, through the
camera's lens mount. When making extended time exposures, the P.S. (Power saving)
time function can be used instead of the bulb mode to minimize power consumption and save
batteries. The memory lock button memorizes the proper exposure level on the subject, so
the subject is properly exposed even if the image is recomposed after light metering is
complete. The large LCD data panel and multi-information viewfinder display provides the
user with vital operational information. The 67II offers an easy-to-use multiple exposure
function. Simple operation of the multiple exposure switch, while cocking the wind-up
lever, prevents the film from advancing, allowing the desired number of exposures to be
made on a single frame. Changing between 120 roll film (10 frames) and 220 roll film (21
frames) is as easy as sliding the film pressure plate to the film type in use. The
67II"s newly designed film wind-up lever facilitates a smooth, speedy film advance
operation. The 67II offers a 12-second-delay electronic self-timer to delay shutter
release. It also comes equipped with a PCV beep to audibly confirm the operation. A
user-friendly dial control simplifies metered-manual and bulb operation. The 67II is
powered by two 3V lithium batteries for extended battery life and outstanding
low-temperature performance. Most existing 67-system lenses and accessories can be used
with the 67II. All lenses can be used without any modifications; all the finders (except
the TTL pentaprism finder) can be used in the conventional metered manual mode.
