Samsung GX-1S 6.3MP Digital SLR Camera

The GX-1S digital SLR combines fantastic ease of use with state-of-the-art optical and digital technologies. This well specified model offers brilliant image quality and easy operation, allowing photographers to focus on what's really important, great pictures.

GX-1S offers a wealth of user-friendly features, including an optical viewfinder for clear, accurate image framing and a large LCD for displaying and reviewing images, all in a compact, robust body.

GX-1S is ergonomically designed for fantastic ease of use. Made with a light and robust stainless steel chassis, its body weighs only 505g.

The specially-finished grip adds a stable picture-taking capability to this super-light, slim digital SLR. One of many features of GX-1S is the large 2.5" LCD, making it well equipped to display the high quality of the images taken.

GX-1S has adopted the Pentaprism viewfinder to capture larger and clearer images, enabling the user to easily identify subtle changes.

The Pentaprism uses a reflective surface processed with deposition and coating technology that increases optical efficiency, thus ensuring a large and clear view, high magnification of 0.95, and the high picture coverage of 95%, that would be impossible with mirror-based technology.

GX-1S has adopted the 2.1 million-pixel, 2.5-inch large TFT LCD, providing an unprecedented wide and clear screen, enabling the user to review the image more easily, thus enhancing picture accuracy and clarity.

2.5-inch large TFT LCD

The large and clear LCD also allows the user to easily navigate the camera's menu. This enables the user to control the camera settings, such as resolution and picture quality as well as settings including ISO, white balance, drive mode, and stroboscope.

A separate information LCD on top of the camera makes the GX-1S even easier to use. The LCD displays information about camera operation, including shutter speed, iris value, flash operation, photographing mode, focus, bracketing, white balance, and remaining battery capacity.

Equipped with an 11-point stadimeter high-precision AF feature,GX-1S provides a wide range of AF and AF features. The central 9 points form a cross sensor that adjusts the focus on any horizontal or vertical line.

They offer excellent flexibility in determining the composition by bringing even an off-centre subject into focus.

Additional features include a setting which allows the user to select the position of the AF object, and the display of available focusing points in red.

Equipped with a 16-split photometry system, GX-1S enables accurate measurements of the intensity of radiation and color distribution based on the AF information even in tricky lighting conditions.

This allows the user to obtain the best exposure for each different circumstance. Available modes are: Multi, Center-weighted and Spot.

The high sensitivity setting of ISO 3200 enables the user to take clear indoor pictures in the dark without camera shake and the resulting image blurring. With continuous shooting at 2.8 (up to 8 if the noise reduction is off) pictures per second,GX-1S will meet the expectations of even the most demanding photographers.
GX-1S has an auto sensitivity feature that automatically adjusts sensitivity according to the ambient exposure conditions up to ISO 3200. It is equipped with the standard output features of ISO 200, 400, 800, 1600, and 3200.
With a total of seven modes, including landscape, macro, and standard, GX-1S takes a great shot in every situation. In AUTO SCN mode, the camera automatically identifies the subject and selects the best mode from the five modes: portrait, landscape, macro, moving object, and standard.
The AUTO SCN mode automatically adjusts AF, white balance, saturation, sharpness, and contrast as well as exposure, making sure that the camera's settings are placed to capture the best possible picture.
GX-1S supports precise shutter speeds from 30 seconds to 1/4000 seconds, enabling awide range of photo-taking techniques, including capturing moving subjects and using the long shutter and the bulb shutter for night-time shooting.
The exposure-correction dial and the AE lock button are located in the position that is easy to access while photographing, improving ease of use and convenience.
GX-1S has a jog dial featuring the preview lever for checking the depth of field, thus maximizing ease of use and efficiency.
GX-1S helps the user achieve more accurate images with the autobracketing feature, which allows the user to select the best image according to the 3-step exposure.
The GX-1S uses an image processing chip that implements the best image quality under any circumstance. Equipped with an optimized tuning engine, the GX-1S processes high resolution large volume data in high speed and optimized the best outcome with crystal clear image quality with with minimum noise levels.
The GX-1S supports Auto WBB that automatically optimizes the white balance of a light source measured with an image sensor.
Preset WBB can optimizes selectively depending on the characteristics of the light source such as sunlight, shadow, cloudy, fluorescent light (D: daylight blue, N: daylight white, W: white), incandescent lamp, strobe light, and Manual WBB that allows the user to choose and apply the white balance they need.
The GX-1S supports five-step adjustment of image color, tone and clarity. By adjusting image saturation and contrast, the user can express various colors and create the deep color touches. By adjusting image sharpness, a crisp or smooth image may be produced, depending on the desired outcome.
The GX-1S supports the high quality RAW file format. A RAW file is commonly referred to as an undeveloped digital negative file.
